A dark room filled with haze and a wide cloud of apricot, coral and rose light, with one visitor standing at the far end

Room one, coral haze

Rooms made of coloured air.

Brumelle is a light-art studio that fills dark rooms with haze and slow, saturated colour.

Light needs something to land on.

We hang fine scrims and let mist drift through them. The colour only appears where the light meets the air.

Rose moonA soft round light hung low over a polished floor, so the room holds two of it.

Three things in every room.

  • Haze

A fine, slow mist that gives the light a body.

  • Colour

Apricot, coral and rose, mixed in the air rather than on a wall.

  • Dark

A quiet, unlit room so the colour has nowhere else to go.
