Sculpture withits own gravity.

An abstract bronze sculpture of three interlocking rings around a peach-glazed ceramic sphere on a marble block

Tovari is a fictional collective of three makers working in bronze, clay and steel.

Three works, one room.

An imagined exhibition where each piece circles the same warm afternoon light.

  • A tall arc of blackened steel rising from a limestone plinth in warm gallery light

    Meridian

    Blackened steel

A single arc that leans into the afternoon light.

  • Six stacked peach clay discs balanced on a limestone plinth

    Cairn

    Glazed clay

Six peach discs, fired one at a time, then balanced by hand.

  • A patinated bronze ring hanging from a thin cable in a dim concrete room

    Perihelion

    Cast bronze

A ring hung at eye height, turning slowly on its cable.

Three makers, one orbit.

Tovari is an invented collective. Each maker keeps one material, and every work is made where those materials meet.

  • Bronze

Cast rings and arcs, patinated dark so their edges catch the light.

  • Clay

Hand-built spheres and discs glazed a soft peach.

  • Steel

Bent, blackened lines that hold the other two in place.

A worn workbench holding a bronze ring, stacked clay discs and a bent bar of blackened steel beside rasps

One long bench.

In this imagined studio, a casting, a stack of clay and a bar of steel share the same worn table until one of them starts to pull at the others.
